Description
AIM-LOK standing-seam panels are available with striated or smooth surfaces in 16" or 18" widths with 2" vertical ribs, can be installed on solid deck or open-framed roofs. AIM-LOK metal roof panels add architectural detail while enhancing structural integrity in commercial, industrial, educational and military roof applications. Each panel floats on a clip, allowing for 1" movement from center (1¾" overall). The panels seam with an electric mechanical seamer. The standard TRIPLE-Lok seaming method is appropriate for 90% of all seaming requirements, but extreme wind environments (in excess of 140 MPH) warrant the more substantial QUAD-Lok seaming method.
Application
Roof or wall covering for new, re-roof and retrofit construction applications
Material Content
AIM-LOK panels meet LEED, CRRC and Energy Star requirements with a minimum of 30% post-consumer content recycled steel. The panels are available in 24-gauge steel for wind loads of up to 140 MPH or 22-gauge steel for extreme wind loads above 180 MPH. AIM-LOK panels feature a “Cool” paint finish of Fluoropon® PVDF SR Reflective with 70% KYNAR®. The Grade 50 (50ksi) and (65psi) steel coil comes in AZ55 bare or AZ50 painted Fluoropon® with 70% KYNAR®. Floating clips consist of 16-gauge steel. The clip comes in heights of 23/8” or 33/8" (optional for thermal blocks).
Industry Notes
“Oil-canning,” an inherent waviness in sheet metal, is an industry-accepted condition and not cause for rejection.
AIM-LOK female side rib with factory-applied sealant provides excellent air and water test results: ASTM E 1646 (water) at 40 psf without failure and ASTM E 1680 (air) at 40 psf without leakage. Mastics and sealants meet all required MSDS environmental and performance standards, including a non-drying, non-hardening, butyl rubber-based seam and panel sealant and non-drying, non-hardening, butyl-based tape mastic for eave, end lap, ridge, rake and miscellaneous flashings. Additional technical specifications available upon request. |
